Project Albatros.
A powerful upgrade
Inland vessel the Albatros has been transporting mainly sand and has recently had a successful repowering. Now the ship is more efficient, more powerful and ready for the future!
The existing Mitsubishi S12 engine (953hp) has been replaced by a brand new Scania DC16 317A Stage V. A compliment to Machinefabriek Hasselt BV for the clean installation. This engine swap is crucial for improving performance and meeting increasingly stringent environmental standards.
The Scania delivers a power output of 705hp. Although the power is lower than that of the previous engine, the Albatros can still transport as much as 1850 tons with the new Scania engine without sacrificing much speed.
